After discovering the incident, DaVita activated its response protocols and took steps to contain the situation. This included isolating affected systems as a precaution. The company is currently working with external cybersecurity experts to investigate and resolve the issue, and it has informed law enforcement.

While the company hasn’t confirmed whether any data was stolen, ransomware attacks in the healthcare sector often involve both system encryption and data theft. Patients are advised to stay alert for any future communications from DaVita regarding possible data exposure or suspicious financial activity.

The investigation is still in progress.
